About our Chapter
According to our charter, our NHS Chapter began here in Newton Falls on April 10, 1957. It was originally called the Newton Falls Chapter of the National Honor Society, but it’s name was changed in 1969 after the founder, Artur J. Prescott, who was an English teacher, counselor and superintendent here in Newton Falls, as well as, the author of our school's Alma Mater, passed away at the young age of just 49.
Every year since our chapter began in Newton Falls, we have had new members inducted many of whom have gone on to accomplish impressive things such as working for NASA like Julie Levri, becoming award winning basketball coach like Roy Sembach, or even Newton Falls School Board Presidents like Mrs. Amie Crowder, among others.
