Walk Warm Program

The Walk Warm Program at the Elementary/Middle School will run through Friday, May 17th, from 4:00-6:00 PM, when school is open.

Participants are NOT permitted in the building until 4:00 PM due to student dismissal . If you arrive before 4:00 PM, please remain in your vehicle until that time.

The program is open to all Newton Falls residents. Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Sign-in is required.

Kindergarten Graduation

Kindergarten graduation is right around the corner! Please mark your calendars to see our Tigers graduate on Friday, May 24th, at 9:30 AM in the Elementary/Middle School gym! We hope to see you all there!

33rd Annual Tiger Boys Basketball Camp

Tiger Boys Basketball camp will be conducted by Newton Falls Boys' Varsity Basketball coach, Roy Sembach. Assisting Coach Sembach will be current and former Tiger basketball players. The Tigers have had 26 winning seasons in the past 27 years, including 6 District Championships, 21 Sectional Championships, 5 District Runners – Up, and 5 League Championships under the direction of Coach Sembach. Camp will be held each day at the outdoor basketball courts at the Newton Falls City Park.

Student Health Clinic

Mark your calendars! Don't miss our Student Health Clinic from One Health Ohio who will be visiting the High School on Wednesday, May 29th, from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM. This convenient clinic provides a one-stop shop for all student health needs:

Sports Physicals - Athletes can obtain their required annual physical exam.

Vaccinations - Stay up-to-date on all recommended and/or required adolescent vaccines like HPV, meningitis, and more.

General Health Screening - Checkups for vision, hearing, diabetes, and other conditions.

This clinic comes at ZERO COST! Those with insurance will be billed and those without insurance will receive their services complimentary.

Consent forms will be distributed next week for those interested.

Any student of Newton Falls Exempted Village School District may utilize the clinic. All student athletes and those who still need their required vaccinations for next school year should take advantage of this opportunity!

Parents are encouraged but not required to be present as long as the proper consent forms are signed.

Appointments will be accepted from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM on May 29th, 2024 on a first come, first serve basis.

JH Student Council Plastic Bag Collection

The Junior High Student Council has until the end of the school year to collect plastic bags for the recycling challenge. We have collected 701 lbs. and need 299 lbs. to reach our goal and get a free Trex bench for our school!

Remember, only stretchy plastic is allowed. Plastic bags from the grocery store or the plastic bags that come over newspapers.

Make sure to donate today by sending bags to the JHHS with your students or dropping them off at the building offices!

Sign Up for Camp Invention

Camp Invention will be held once again at the Junior High School from Monday, June 3rd, through Friday, June 7th, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Camp Invention is for students in grades 1-6 where they will build and learn about such things as glow boxes, light up game boards, transforming their sketches into prototypes, and water challenges.

There's no cost to participate, but spaces fill up fast! To register, call 800-968-4332. If you have any questions, contact Camp Director Kayla Smith by email at smithk@nfschools.org or at 330-872-0905 ext. 1109. The last day to register is Thursday, May 30th.

Youth Summer Employment Program

Sophomores or Juniors that could benefit from a summer job earing $15 per hour and incentives should contact the Trumbull County office of Ohio Means Jobs at 330-675-2181.

They have a program to help low-income students find employment and develop job skills. Students are guaranteed a summer job when applying. There are many positions open, so call and apply today!

Youth Social Skills Program

Buckeye Residential Solutions and the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities is holding a Youth Social Skill program starting Saturday, June 1st.

The program offers friendship building, community outings, independent skills, meals and snacks, and a fun and safe environment.

Program hours are Tuesday from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Summer with Newton Falls Chess

Looking for volunteer hours for graduation or National Honor Society? Looking to play chess over the summer? Chess Club will once again be held this summer at the Newton Falls Public Library on the following Thursday afternoons at 2:00 PM:

June 13th, June 27th, July 11th, and July 25th

Your participation and involvement is greatly appreciated if able to help! It means a lot to the NF community, the library, and the younger children who attend. If you think you may want

Free Kids Kinship Summer Camp

Easterseals of Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties and Direction Home of Eastern Ohio will be holding a free Kids Kinship Summer Camp for boys and girls ages 5-13 from Monday, June 17th to Thursday, August 1st. The camp is held from Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Kinship Camp criteria: a child being raised by an adult 55 plus, a child between the ages of 5-13, a child fully potty trained, and you must attend an informational meeting on the first day of camp, Monday, June 17th.

Immunization Reminder to Parents/Guardians of Students entering 7th and 12th Grades

All students entering 7th grade this fall are required to have the following immunizations:

1 dose of Tdap
1 dose of Meningitis (MCV4)

All students entering 12th grade this fall are required to have the following immunizations:

1-2 doses of Meningitis (MCV4) with one dose given after age 16.

State law requires written verification of these immunizations no later than the 15th day of school. If your student does not have the required immunizations, please contact your healthcare provider to schedule an appointment. Please contact Mrs. Knoske, RN, the school nurse at 330­872­5121 ext. 1024 or knosker@nfschools.org if you need additional information.

In case of emergencies such as school closings, bus delays, or upcoming events, the district will use its computerized telephone notification system to inform parents. It is extremely important that parents verify their emergency telephone numbers with each building secretary. If you have changed telephone numbers or are now using only a cell phone contact to be reached, please update your information with the building secretary.
